You can assign comments to each element in RFEM and RSTAB (structure element, load element, and so on). This can help to improve the overview and documentation of structures, as the comments appear in the printout report and, for example, certain objects can be filtered and displayed using the "Select Special" function.
In addition to the basic combination rules of EN 1990, there are other combination conditions for actions on road bridges specified in EN 1991‑2 that must be taken into account. RFEM and RSTAB provide automatic combinatorics that can be activated in the General Data when selecting the standard EN 1990 + EN 1991‑2. The partial safety factors and combination coefficients depending on the action category are preset when selecting the respective National Annex.
When you receive an RFEM or RSTAB file for further processing, the structures will be displayed in the program using the display settings of the last editor. If the settings do not correspond to your requirements, you can simply right‑click the empty area in Project Navigator - Display and select "Dlubal Standard". This returns the settings to the default values.
A result combination (RC) combines results from the selected load cases (LC), load combinations (CO), and result combinations according to a preset combination syntax. Since a particular result may show an extreme value, depending on the combination at various locations of the structure, the RC displays the maximum and the minimum values for each result type.
RF‑/FOUNDATION Pro introduced the geotechnical design of single foundations according to EN 1997‑1 in RFEM 5 and RSTAB 8. Depending on the National Annex preset in the add‑on module, you can determine the bearing resistance using Approach 2 or 3 in compliance with EN 1997‑1 up to Version x.04.0108.
If you select the combinatorics according to EN 1990 + EN 1991‑2 and define a load case in action category gr1a, gr2, or gr5, you have to additionally define in the program which load model should be taken as a basis for the load case. This information is crucial for defining combination rules for automatic combinations according EN 1990 + EN 1991-2. In the gr1a category, you can select TS (LM1), UDL (LM1), or pedestrian and cycle track, for example. TS (LM1) is preset by default. In the gr2 category, you can select breaking and acceleration forces or centrifugal forces as a specification.
Using the [To Display…] button, you can specify the amount of reinforcement to be displayed in the results of the required reinforcement in Window 2.2 of RF‑CONCRETE and CONCRETE. In addition to the default setting, you can display the resulting reinforcement amount as (for example) the sum of the longitudinal and longitudinal torsion reinforcement, or the sum of the torsion and shear reinforcement. You can also reduce the number of preset results, of course.
RFEM provides the option to display up to three result values of the surface results in each group. Four groups are preset under "Groups" in the Results Navigator.
